Paint your own ceramic pottery in the heart of the White Mountains. We invite artists/painters of all ages and experience levels to join us. Paint a piece for yourself or create a handmade gift for someone special. We have pieces for everyone! Our studio staff are always available for assistance!
No appointment necessary for painting pottery during regular hours, first come first served at available table space. Outside seating is available weather permitting ( hint it is usually less busy early, if you want more space to yourselves)
Grab & Go! Take it with you! Chose your items and paint with glaze, must bring it back within a week to be fired, (glaze will chip off if left and you don't want to breath the dust. Acrylic is an option but we ask that you do not paint with acrylic in rental-rooms without their consent, as it can stain easily
If you are showing signs of covid and want to paint something from us, please call us, we can send pictures of current inventory, take order and you can pick up curbside.

This was my wife's idea, (not usually my scene), but I actually really enjoyed it. The calm, quiet atmosphere was very relaxing, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We ended up spending way more time than we expected to, and made tons of memorable pieces for our new house. I'd recommend it to anyone on vacation trying to mix it up and get out of the sun or rain for a few hours of relaxation.

Paint something for you or create a one of a kind handmade gift. We have over a 100 pieces to choose from -- including plates, mugs, figurines, holiday items, and more!
Once you decide on your piece, design, and gather your paints it's time to sit back and relax in our studio and watch your creation come to life.
After you have finished painting, we will carefully glaze and fire you piece in our kiln (results can vary). We try to fire on Monday so that your items will be ready for pickup on Thursday, but depending on how busy studio is firing day may change. We also ship, if you are unable to pick your piece up at the studio or we can hold it for you up to 30 days.

How much does it cost?
Studio fee of $7 per/day per/person covers the cost of paint, glazing and firing. The only other charge is reasonably priced piece(s) you choice.
Can my kids paint too?
All ages are welcome here! Infants make their mark with hands and feet. The Gare paint is non toxic and easily washes off with water. We encourage families to paint together.
How long does it take to paint?
Typically folks spend between one and two hours painting their piece, but are welcome to spend as much time as needed. There are many variables, including size of the piece or how detailed it is.
How long does it take to fire my piece?
We are committed to firing a minimum of once per week. Trying to stay on a schedule of Monday night we fire up the kiln and pieces are ready for pick-up Thursday when we open.
After you paint your piece, we dip them in clear glaze When placed in the kiln it will fire to cone 06 - 1880 degrees - and bake for 7+ hours and then remain in the kiln for another 12 or more hours to cool properly. If you are unable to pick up your piece within 30 days, we are able to ship it via USPS, price starts at $15 (if shipping in New England 3 or more medium size items can ship for $15) . We also have acrylic paints available for use if you would prefer to take your piece same day
